Gordon Road_Demolition
Demolition is currently underway on our project at 54 Gordon Road in Ealing. The existing detached house will make way for a new build development comprising 9 flats, including a full basement dig.
The project has a key focus on sustainable design and this includes achieving an energy efficient building fabric using elements with low U-Values, as well as re-using a significant amount of the existing building materials such as bricks and mouldings. The new development will adopt renewable energy technologies, such as PV panels and Air Source Heat pumps, which will reduce the energy bills of future occupants and the overall project carbon footprint.
The two-storey property with an internal GIA of about 200 sq.m is being disassembled by hand to allow the materials to be salvaged for reuse. Working top to bottom, the deconstruction is projected to take 8 weeks to complete, with particular attention to managing dust and noise pollution in order to prevent disruption to the neighbours and the community.
